In the dessert or ocean there is no fast source for drinking water. In a place with a running river through town one might think that there should be no problem in getting drinking water. But in some areas that is dominated by industries that priorities the business goal over the safety of the populace that is not the case. In this way even among so much water they are in a dessert. To drink it would mean dramatic long term health damages. A general solution would be to introduce air to the water as it would help break down the toxins. Since the dumping usually does occur in running river it would be wise to harness this to add aeration to the water. As my demonstration shows the paddles act as water agitators. Much like the paddles used in industrial fish farming to aerate the artificial ponds. This acts in the same way but instead uses the natural current to drive the wheels. A zero input system that will potentially remove harmful chemicals.
The animation was made using Blender and conceptual design made in Solidworks. Its purely conceptual no real plan to build it nor do I know if it would work as intended. Just a discussion point to bring awareness to a large problem in developing countries.
